Frequently asked questions

What is a fire safety AMC? An Annual Maintenance Contract is a yearly agreement with a fire protection company to inspect, test and maintain your fire systems on a set schedule. It keeps checks on time and gives you one point of contact when something needs repair.

How often do fire protection systems need checking in Qatar? Qatar Civil Defence’s inspection, testing and maintenance guideline includes semi-annual (every six months) and annual checks for systems such as sprinklers, fire pumps, fire alarms, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting. Test methods are based on international NFPA standards (for example NFPA 25 for sprinklers and pumps, NFPA 72 for fire alarms and NFPA 10 for extinguishers) and the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Why do maintenance records matter? Civil Defence must be satisfied before a building’s fire safety certificate is renewed, and its guideline expects inspection, testing and maintenance records to be available. Keeping them up to date avoids delays. Our QCDD guide explains more.

Do you service fire extinguishers? Yes. We inspect, refill, service and replace CO2, dry chemical and foam fire extinguishers, and we can supply new ones.

Can you maintain a system installed by another company? Yes. We start with a site survey of the existing system and tell you about any faults before the contract begins.
